Featured snippet optimization

The answer box and the AI answer come from the same work.
Win one and you usually win both.

The box at the top of Google and the AI answer above the results both pull from the same kind of page. One piece of work wins you both, which is why we never sell them as two things.

What you get: You take the top spot on the page, above every competitor link, and the same work gets you into the AI answer at the same time.

  • Win the answer box
  • Recover lost boxes
  • Feed AI answers
  • Measured monthly

Transparent monthly packages from $799 to $3,500 per month. No free audit to sit through, and no discovery call before you can see a price. Responds within 24 hours during Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm Pacific Time.

What is featured snippet optimization, and does it still matter?

A featured snippet is the short answer Google puts in a box above the normal results. Featured snippet optimization is the work of building your page so Google pulls that answer from you instead of from a competitor.

It matters more now than it used to. The same short answer that wins the box is what AI Overviews and AI assistants use when they write their reply. So one job wins you the top of Google and gets you into AI answers at once. The requirements are specific. The question has to appear as a heading, the answer has to follow right underneath in about forty to sixty words, the format has to match the question, and the code behind the page has to agree. We do this for $799 to $3,500 a month.

Every figure on this page comes from our published brand facts, so it says the same thing everywhere you find us.

Why a weaker page holds the box

You wrote the better answer. A thinner page is holding the box.

Google picks the answer that is easiest to lift, not always the best one. A shorter simpler page often wins. Here is what usually blocks you.

  • The answer arrives too late

Your page opens with background. The real answer sits four paragraphs down, where Google will not go looking for it.

  • The format does not match the question

A how question needs numbered steps. A cost question needs a number. One long paragraph answers neither in a way Google can lift.

  • The question is never asked on your page

If the exact question does not appear as a heading, Google has to guess the match. It picks a page where the match is obvious instead.

  • A redesign quietly lost it

A rebuild removed the structure that was winning the box. Rankings barely moved, so nobody connected the two events.

What you actually receive

The work that wins the box and keeps it.

Applied to your most valuable pages every month, at the amount your package covers.

The answer, right under the question

The question becomes a heading and a short clear answer sits immediately below it, written so it still makes sense pulled out of the page.

Content planning

The right format for the question

Numbered steps for how questions, tables for comparisons, a definition for what questions, and a real number for cost questions.

Lost boxes taken back

Where a competitor took a box you used to hold, we compare both pages, find the difference, and rebuild yours to win it back.

Snippet recovery

Code that agrees with the page

The code behind your page matches the visible answer exactly, because when the two disagree Google trusts neither of them.

Schema work
One connected system

Featured snippet optimization is one of six pillars, not a standalone tactic.

Buying a single tactic rarely moves visibility, because answer engines read the whole picture. Every package works all six pillars together at the level your tier defines.

  • Google + Google Maps Visibility

Grow your Google Business Profile and local search signals across your website, service pages, and location content to strengthen Google and Maps visibility.

  • Google AI Overview + AI Answer Readiness

Track 50-75 local buyer prompts across AI answer engines and build answer-first content that AI can quote when customers ask who to hire.

  • Website SEO Optimization

Optimize 2-3 pages each month plus one new local content asset, with full on-page SEO, internal linking, and image alt text.

  • Local Entity Authority

Strengthen your service, location, and business entities with schema, local citations, and SameAs profile alignment.

  • Reviews + Trust Signals

Add review-growth guidance and place testimonials, licenses, certifications, and guarantees near your most important calls-to-action.

  • Conversion + Lead Path Optimization

Improve calls, quote forms, booking links, and sticky mobile CTAs so more local visibility turns into revenue.

Done right the first time

A lot can go wrong with featured snippet optimization. We check every one of these.

Chasing answer boxes badly can cost you traffic instead of winning it. These are the four traps, and how we keep you out of every one.

  • What usually goes wrong

You win boxes that kill your clicks

An agency chases easy information questions. You win the box, Google answers the question fully, and nobody visits. Traffic goes down while the report shows wins.

How we make sure it is right

We target questions that end in a phone call

We chase buying questions, where the reader still needs to contact somebody. If most of your target list is pure information, we will tell you it is not worth the money.

  • What usually goes wrong

An FAQ block gets bolted on and nothing happens

A list of questions gets added to the bottom of every page. It is the most common attempt and it almost never works, because the page above it never changed.

How we make sure it is right

The answer goes where the question comes up

We rebuild the page itself so the answer sits at the point the reader asks it. That is what makes it eligible, and a tacked on list at the end is not.

  • What usually goes wrong

You chase a box that no longer exists

Money gets spent trying to win back a snippet after Google changed what that search shows. The work cannot succeed, but the invoices keep arriving anyway.

How we make sure it is right

We check the box is still winnable first

We compare your page against whatever holds the position now. If the search changed and the box is gone, we say so and move your budget somewhere it can work.

  • What usually goes wrong

Fake FAQ code gets added behind the page

Questions and answers get put in the code that never appear on the page. It breaks Google guidelines and risks a penalty across your entire website.

How we make sure it is right

Our code only ever describes what a visitor can see

If a question is in your code, it is on your page in the same words. That keeps you eligible and keeps you safe from a penalty.

This is the whole reason to hire someone. Winning the wrong boxes is worse than winning none at all. We pick the ones that bring you buyers and leave the ones that only cost you clicks.

The Local Answer System

Six stages, and what each one produces for Featured snippet optimization.

Every engagement runs on the same method, so you always know which stage you are in, what it is producing, and what comes next. The stages are Find, Fix, Structure, Prove, Track, and Grow.

Workflow for structuring page content so search engines can extract a direct answer
  1. Find

    Stage 1. Find

Establish what buyers actually ask and where you stand today.

You see which questions you should own, which you hold, and which competitor holds the rest.

  2. Fix

    Stage 2. Fix

Remove the technical and factual blockers that stop a machine reading you correctly.

You get the format and structure problems removed on pages already close to winning.

  3. Structure

    Stage 3. Structure

Rebuild the page and its data so an answer engine can lift a correct answer.

You get clear answers placed where the question comes up, with matching code behind them.

  4. Prove

    Stage 4. Prove

Attach the evidence a buyer and a model both need before recommending you.

You get sources and detail added underneath so the page deserves the position it is claiming.

  5. Track

    Stage 5. Track

Measure the prompts, the competitors, and the movement every month.

You get monthly reporting of the boxes you hold next to your AI mentions for the same questions.

  6. Grow

    Stage 6. Grow

Expand coverage into the next set of questions, services, and locations.

You get coverage extended into your next set of buying and comparison questions.

Documented work

Two results we can show you, with their limits stated.

We publish the evidence label and the limitation next to every number, because a result without its scope is a claim, not proof. We do not guarantee AI rankings or citations, because third parties control those systems.

The doubts worth raising

The four questions serious buyers ask before they sign.

Each answer sits next to the doubt that prompts it, with the evidence we can actually stand behind.

Snippets steal the click. Why would we want one?

Because the alternative is your competitor being quoted instead.

Some information questions do end without a click, and that is a real trade. But the comparison that matters is your box against a competitor box. When they hold it, they get the attention, the brand impression, and the click that does happen. We target buying questions where the reader still has to contact somebody.

We pick target questions around buying intent rather than pure information, so an answer box still leads somewhere.

We had a snippet and lost it. Can it come back?

Usually yes, once you know what actually changed.

A lost box normally has a specific cause. A redesign removed the headings, a rewrite buried the answer, or a competitor added a clearer format. We compare your page against the one holding it now, name the difference, and rebuild for it. If the search itself changed, we say so rather than take your money chasing it.

Recovery starts by comparing your page directly against whatever holds the position today.

Is this not just adding an FAQ to every page?

A tacked on FAQ almost never wins anything.

Adding a list of questions to the bottom of a page is the most common failed attempt we see. The answer has to sit where the question comes up, the format has to match the question type, and the code has to agree with it. A separate list at the end meets none of those conditions.

Answers are placed inside the relevant part of the page, never appended as a separate block.

How does this help with AI answers?

The same paragraph feeds both. That is the whole argument.

What makes a paragraph easy for Google to lift is exactly what makes it easy for an AI to use. It stands alone, answers directly, stays short, and matches the question. That is why we do not sell these as two services. One job serves the answer box, the AI Overview, and the assistant.

Both your answer boxes and your AI mentions are reported on the same monthly schedule.

Who this is built for

Three situations where this engagement pays for itself.

If one of these describes your position, the fit review will be short and useful. If none of them do, say so and we will tell you honestly.

You lost a box you used to hold

A redesign or a content refresh cost you the position, rankings barely moved, so nobody connected the two events at the time.

You rank second and gain nothing

You sit just under a competitor who holds the box on your most valuable question, so they take the attention every single time.

You want both at once

You would rather buy one piece of work that wins the answer box and gets you into AI answers than fund two separate projects.

When this is the wrong purchase

This is wrong for you if your target questions are pure information with no buying follow through, because winning those boxes can genuinely reduce useful traffic. We will tell you during the review if that describes most of your list, rather than sell work that will not pay back.

Straight answers

Questions about featured snippet optimization.

Each answer opens with the direct answer, so you can read one line and move on.

What is featured snippet optimization?

It is the work of building a page so Google pulls a short answer from it and shows it in a box above the normal results. It needs the question as a heading, the answer immediately below it, a format that matches the question type, and code behind the page that agrees.

Do featured snippets still matter now that AI Overviews exist?

Yes, arguably more. The same short answer that wins the box is what AI Overviews and assistants use when they write a reply. Doing one improves your chances at the other, which is why we deliver them as a single piece of work.

Can you get back a snippet we lost?

Often, once we find the cause. We compare your page against the one holding the position now, name the structural difference, and rebuild for it. If the search itself has changed and the box no longer exists in a useful form, we tell you rather than chase it.

How long does it take to win a featured snippet?

It depends how close your page already is. A page in the top five that only needs rebuilding can move within weeks of the change being crawled. A page that does not yet rank well needs the position first, which takes longer.

Will you just add an FAQ section to our pages?

No. A generic FAQ list at the bottom of a page is the most common failed attempt we see. The answer has to sit where the question comes up, the format has to match, and the code has to agree. Placement and format are what decide eligibility.

How much does featured snippet optimization cost?

It is included in our packages at $799, $1,500, or $3,500 per month. Most businesses buying this specifically start at $1,500, because meaningful snippet work needs two to three pages rebuilt every month.
